Overview
Achieve a hardwearing and professional finish by preparing surfaces with Craig and Rose 1829 Vintage Colours All Purpose Undercoat. Formulated to help even out surfaces and cover over unwanted colours it will prepare difficult surfaces. Ideal for walls, ceilings, skirting boards, furniture and cabinets it has a quick recoat time so you can apply your topcoat on the same day.
This water-based undercoat is versatile as it can be used in both interior and exterior projects and is suitable for application to plaster, plasterboards, wood, MDF and composite boards.

Preparation
For best results always ensure the surface you will be applying Craig & Rose All Purpose Primer to are thoroughly prepared.
- Fill any cracks or holes in the surface using a suitable filler such as or and sand to a smooth surface.
- Sand smooth any loose or flaking paint.
- Previously painted glossy or silky surfaces will need to be sanded to allow adhesion.
- Ensure the surface is clean and free from any dust, dirt or grease.
Application
Always test the primer and undercoat on the surface to be painted to ensure it is compatible and properly prepared.
- Stir the paint thoroughly to ensure consistent colour.
- Apply using a high-quality synthetic brush or medium pile roller.
- Cut in around the edges and apply a full coat.
- Depending on the use and surface you may require a second coat, allow the first to dry for 2-4 hours.
